RTC is a recognized leader in the retail technology industry, providing software, hardware and consulting services, including point of sale (POS) and iSeries ERP solutions since 1989. Further, the key employees of RTC collectively have over 500 years of retail technology expertise authoring 5 generations of POS and AS/400/iSeries retail ERP applications over its 35+ year history. Our customer base includes both world class chain retailers, as well as small regional retailers trying to grow in a highly competitive retail marketplace.
I have been working in the retail technology industry virtually my whole career. From supporting stores at NYNEX Business Centers during my college days to building and selling retail systems as one of the five founders of RTC, my goal, since I was 6 years old, was to be a successful business man. My family always said I would be a lawyer or a politician and I told them I would be a successful business man. When they asked why, I just said, “because they get to run things and talk a lot”. I can honestly say I have achieved those two goals as President and founder of RTC.
When I started RTC as a member of “Five Busy Guys”, we all set out to be the best in our industry. We knew we could not accomplish that goal and be a very large company, so we all committed to be the best and to not worry about growth. Now we are in our 34th year and I can say without hesitation that we are an exemplary company with industry recognized customer satisfaction awards that we are extremely proud of.
Going forward, my goal for RTC is to figure out how to remain as a customer satisfaction leader while aggressively growing our business. I have come to realize that this “capitalist” saying is true “Your company is either growing or dying”. All of us at RTC are committed to growing our business; however, we are also committed to remaining as THE Customer Satisfaction Leader in the mid-tier retail industry per the RIS News “Leaderboard” ranking for the past 7 years. The key to our customer satisfaction leadership is continually providing substantive ROI through our products and services to all our customers.
Our moniker is “The MD of Retail IT” and we have earned that name over the years. Flat out we fix what ails retailers in their technology infrastructure and we do it for a very reasonable dollar. Dr ROI (return on investment), our “mascot” knows retailers only spend money when there is ROI expected on the expense and my entire employee base focuses on that fact in every deal we do.
Today, we have ventured into a new world as the inventors of The Tablet Gun & POSiDock POS hardware/software solution. We have secured 13 patents on this platform with patent coverage in the US, Canada, England, Germany, France & Hong Kong. It took us 8 years and almost $6M to bring this POS platform to market and we are very excited to finally see our vision and hard work successfully running within our customer’s stores. Now the real journey begins….
